Privacy Policy
In simple terms
We don't have your email.
We don't know your name.
We don't want it either. We don't track how you use this app. We don't know where you're located. We're paranoid about security and privacy so we put that in practice with Stocketa.
We don't care about tracking your info because we're not trying to make money selling it.
Stocketa is a self-funded, subscription-based app. We don't have investors expecting us to swing for the fences and 10X their investment. We're not trying to change the world.
We've turned down investors because we know that changes the game. We would have to add more features, sell more things... and make a more cluttered app along the way.
That's not what we want.
We just want to build a damn great app solving a particular problem and charge for it, like the old days. That's it.
Stocketa is a privacy-focused app. Stocketa uses Google Firebase for storage along with Google Cloud Run for the backend. No additional Firebase services are used; Google Analytics is not installed on the app and we are not able to track your usage in detail. Accounts utilizing Sign In With Apple (recommended) do not have their email address accessed (and thus not stored). In addition, using Sign In With Apple requires two-factor authentication. If the user opts to sign in via email address and password, only then is an email address stored using Firebase Authentication for the purpose of logging in.
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. When applicable, Stocketa also encrypts DNS. Face ID can also be enabled on Stocketa for further device privacy. Stocketa does not connect to any of the user's financial institutions. The only data provided by the user is used to show and calculate investment data. Example data that can be provided by the user is similar to that of a spreadsheet: a list of stocks and optionally associated share data like purchase date and quantity.
